Elite League S2 Schedule

The second edition of the Elite League will run from July 25 to Aug. 4, 2024, at the ESAN Centro de Convenciones in Lima, Peru. The tournament features a total prize pool of $800,000 and will be split into the Swiss Stage (July 25-27), Round-Robin Stage (July 28-31), and the Playoffs (Aug. 2-4).

In the Swiss Stage, 16 pro Dota 2 teams will compete in a modified Swiss-system format, with all matches being a best-of-three series. The top eight teams will advance to the Round-Robin Stage while the rest will be eliminated.

During the Round-Robin Stage, teams will compete in a single round-robin group, each played as a best-of-two series. The top four teams will be seeded into the upper bracket of the Playoffs, and the remaining teams will enter the lower bracket.

The Playoffs will follow a double-elimination format. All matches will be best-of-three series, except for the Grand Finals, which will be a best-of-five series. The tournament will culminate with the top team taking home a $240,000 cash prize and the Elite League Season 2 crown.

Important: These predictions reflect the perceived strength of teams based on historical trends and the latest available odds. This analysis should not be interpreted as betting advice. Past performance does not guarantee future outcomes. Always gamble responsibly.

Team Liquid

Team Liquid is the favorite to take home the Elite League Season 2 crown, especially given the absence of juggernauts like Team Falcons, BetBoom Team, Gaimin Gladiators, and Xtreme Gaming. Despite a rocky history, the team defied expectations at Riyadh Masters 2024 by beating giants Team Spirit (2-0), Tundra Esports (2-1), and Team Falcons (2-0) to secure the runner-up spot.

This performance has ignited newfound confidence in Team Liquid’s ability to pull off significant upsets, ending what has been a nearly impossible losing streak. They’re currently ranked 6th on the EPT S2 leaderboard, and a victory at Elite League S2 could provide the momentum the team needs to regain top form leading up to The International 2024.

Team Liquid roster:

  • Michael “miCKe” Vu
  • Michał “Nisha” Jankowski
  • Neta “33” Shapira (IGL)
  • Samuel “Boxi” Svahn
  • Aydin “Insania” Sarkohi
  • William “Blitz” Lee (Coach)

Tundra Esports

Tundra Esports has the potential to make a strong bid for the Elite League Season 2 trophy. The team has consistently demonstrated its dominance in regional qualifiers and has performed well in Tier 1 events. Notably, Tundra secured 3rd place at ESL One Birmingham and 4th place at the Riyadh Masters 2024, topping the Group Stage with an impressive 11-3 record.

Although Tundra was eventually eliminated by BetBoom Team in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinal, their latest performance showcased their competitive edge and resilience despite the team’s unstable roster. Taken together, Tundra is positioned well as a formidable contender in this tournament.

Tundra Esports roster:

  • Ivan “Pure-” Moskalenko (IGL – Loan from BetBoom Team)
  • Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen
  • Roman “RAMZEZ666” Kushnarev (Loan from L1GA TEAM)
  • Edgar “9Class” Naltakian
  • Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon
  • David “MoonMeander” Tan (Coach)

OG

OG is a solid contender for a top 3 finish at Elite League Season 2 but their success is not without some reservations. While the team’s recent form has yet to match their former glory, they have managed to maintain a level of confidence that could benefit them in the upcoming tournament.

OG had a respectable run at Riyadh Masters 2024, securing an Upper Bracket seed despite facing stiff competition during the Group Stage. Unfortunately, they were sent to the Playoffs Lower Bracket by Tundra Esports (2-0) and subsequently eliminated by PSG Quest (1-2).

One potential obstacle for OG is the absence of Ceb. With Kaori stepping in as a substitute, it’s possible that the squad may not have the leadership to take necessary control of high-pressure fights and mount comebacks. Nevertheless, they may still find an advantage in the absence of some of their top competitors from the tournament.

OG roster:

  • Enzo “Timado” Gianoli
  • Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov
  • Adrián “Wisper” Dobles
  • Matthew “Ari Walker
  • Oleh “Kaori” Medvedok *
  • Allen “Bonkers” Cook (Coach)

Note: Oleh “Kaori” Medvedok will replace Sébastien “Ceb” Debs for the entirety of the competition [source].
