The International 2024 Schedule

The International 2024 takes place from Sept. 4-15, 2024, and is split into two phases. First is The Road to The International, which encompasses the Group Stage and Playoffs. Next is the Main Event, where the final eight teams will compete for the Aegis of Champions at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Group Stage (Sept. 4-5) will see four groups of four teams compete in a single round-robin format, with all matches played as best-of-two series. Teams will then square off in a Seeding Decider (Sept. 6-7), comprising eight best-of-three matchups to determine the bracket placement in the Playoffs.

The Playoffs (Sept. 8-10) and Finals (Sept. 13-15) will follow a double-elimination bracket format. All matches will be played as a best-of-three series, except for the Grand Finals, which will be played as a best-of-five series. The event will conclude with the winner crowned as the TI13 champion.

Important: These predictions reflect the perceived strength of teams based on historical trends and the latest available odds as well as the author’s expertise. This analysis should not be interpreted as betting advice. Past performance does not guarantee future outcomes. Always gamble responsibly.

Team Falcons

Team Falcons have dominated the Dota 2 pro scene, positioning themselves as the clear favorites at The International 2024. Their impressive track record is marked by sweeping victories at major tournaments like BetBoom Dacha Dubai, DreamLeague Seasons 22 and 23, ESL One Birmingham, and FISSURE Universe. They also clinched 3rd place at Riyadh Masters and PGL Wallachia: Season 1, reinforcing their elite status.

It’s no secret that Team Falcons have been crushing their opponents, with much of their overwhelming success residing in their lineup’s exceptional synergy, skill, and experience. In particular, skiter, Malr1ne, and ATF have consistently demonstrated clutch performance. Plus, Aui’s coaching brilliance has been met with impeccable execution by the players on the battlefield.

Team Falcons roster:

  • Oliver “skiter” Lepko
  • Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak
  • Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf
  • Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen
  • Wu “Sneyking” Jingjun (Captain)
  • Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling (Coach)

Team Spirit

Already distinguished by victories at The International 2021 and 2023, Team Spirit is poised to hit back hard and reclaim their spot as back-to-back TI champions. Even with the absence of midlaner TORONTOTOKYO, the team continues to demonstrate high-caliber gameplay, drawing strength from behemoths like Yatoro, who has scored multiple rampages on the main stage of previous TI events.

Despite facing a setback at Riyadh Masters, Team Spirit has still performed well, securing 1st place at both 1win Series Dota 2 Summer and PGL Wallachia Season 1. They also earned runner-up spots at Clavision: Snow Ruyi and FISSURE Universe. The odds also position them as a threat to Team Falcons, hinting that Team Spirit could add yet another International championship to their expansive trophy cabinet.

Team Spirit roster:

  • Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk
  • Denis “Larl” Sigitov
  • Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov
  • Myroslav “Mira” Kolpakov
  • Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov (Captain)
  • Airat “Silent” Gaziev (Coach)

Gaimin Gladiators

Gaimin Gladiators have the potential to clinch a top-3 spot at The International 2024, having already proven their might by securing the runner-up spot at TI last year. Despite a rocky start to the season, they bounced back with 2nd-place finishes at DreamLeague Season 23 and 1win Series Dota 2 Summer. They also won Riyadh Masters, sweeping Team Liquid in both the Upper Bracket Final (2-0) and Grand Final (3-0).

Armed with this momentum and a roster of standout players like dyrachyo, Quinn, and Ace, Gaimin Gladiators are serious contenders for the TI13 championship title. Most notably, the team’s strategic depth, controlled aggression, great comeback potential, and flair for executing unorthodox plays (even under pressure) make them a team to watch closely at The International 2024.

Gaimin Gladiators roster:

  • Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov
  • Quinn “Quinn” Callahan
  • Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard
  • Erik “tOfu” Engel
  • Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp (Captain)
  • Aske “Cy-” Larsen (Coach)

BetBoom Team

As our bold prediction, BetBoom Team emerges as a formidable super team with the potential to cause upsets at The International 2024. This year, the esports titan has consistently secured top-3 finishes at premier Dota 2 tournaments, such as BetBoom Dacha, DreamLeague Seasons 22 and 23, and ESL One Birmingham. Those performances have rightfully earned them a direct invite to TI13.

They may be facing a field of heavyweights like Xtreme Gaming, Team Liquid, and Tundra Esports, but BetBoom Team shouldn’t be underestimated. The team’s roster is laden with talent and features a blend of both experience and raw talent. The acquisition of former TI-winner TORONTOTOKYO in late 2022 has proven successful in lifting the team to new heights this year.

BetBoom Team roster:

  • Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko
  • Danil “gpk” Skutin
  • Matvey “MieRo`” Vasyunin
  • Vitalie “Save-” Melnic (Captain)
  • Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek
  • Anatoly “boolk” Ivanov (Coach)

Honorable mentions to consider include Xtreme Gaming, Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, and Cloud9.

Looking Forward To The Battles Of TI13

Can you believe we’re fast approaching the start of The International 2024? This year has flown by, but the best is yet to come in September with TI13. The competition will be as fierce as ever when 16 of the most talented teams from around the world meet up in Denmark. In addition to being crowned champion, they’re looking to earn a portion of the prize pool that started at $1.6 million but has already grown to $2.2 million as of Aug. 28.
