The Thunderpick World Championship (TWC) 2025 NA Series 1 is officially in the books, and the echoe s of monster frags and clutch plays still ring out. From May 8 to 16, 12 Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) teams went all-out for a spot in the Closed Qualifier, delivering nonstop action and a few spicy upsets.
Join us as we rewind the tapes and relive some of the biggest moments from the series, including highlights that traced Legacy’s journey to the throne.
1. Legacy Make Quick Work Of Getting Info
Legacy may have come in as the Wildcard invite, but they wasted no time making a statement. The team’s Quarterfinal opener against Getting Info on Nuke was an absolute bloodbath, highlighted by latto delivering a clean 4k in round 11.
By halftime, Legacy was already up 10-2.
Getting Info managed to fight back on CT, but they couldn’t close the gap. In round 20, lux pulled off a wild 2v1 clutch, mowing down nosraC and dea from A site before closing the map 13-8 the very next round. However, things went a bit differently on Anubis.
Getting Info took a 5-1 lead on T side, with MarKE pulling off a filthy ace in round 6, taking out latto at gate before wiping the remaining players around pillar. Legacy then hit back, tying the half 6-6 before steamrolling after the swap, dropping one round after the swap to sweep the series.
2. Legacy Sweeps Wildcard In The NA Series 1 Semis
Despite entering the NA Series 1 Semis as underdogs, Legacy flipped the script. The Brazilian side came in hot on Inferno with a 3-0 lead on T side. Wildcard pushed back in round 4, with dumau walking right into Sonic’s crosshair, who then picked up a cheeky 3k with follow-up kills on latto and lux.
At the 7-1 scoreline, Wildcard struck again with a clean 2k from susp, before JBa and Sonic wiped out the rest pushing in from mid and boiler.
In the next round, stanislaw tried to rally with a 3k, but it wasn’t enough. Legacy stayed in control, dropping only 3 rounds in the half.
After the swap, Legacy kept the pressure on CT side. Latto sealed round 17 with a slick 2v1 clutch and defuse, putting them one map away from the Grand Final.
Wildcard responded on Nuke, but not before latto opened with a clean 4k in the pistol round.
Despite a gutsy 1v2 clutch from phzy in round 6, Wildcard managed to drag things to a deadlock by halftime.
Down 8-9, Legacy turned the tide in round 18 with a huge 1v3 clutch from latto, kicking off a five-round streak that closed out the map and secured their spot in the Grand Final.
3. Legacy Puts On Nail-Biting Show On Mirage
The Grand Final was filled with upsets as Legacy and NRG kept us glued to our screens right to the end. After a convincing 9-3 lead by Legacy on Mirage, NRG tried to claw back shortly after the swap, highlighted by an incredible 4k from HexT in round 13 (watch).

This triggered a dominating streak for NRG’s T side, with br0 scoring a beautiful ace to tie the game 10-10.

By round 24, NRG had mirrored Legacy’s halftime scoreline, tying the map 12-12 and forcing OT. From there, it was a back-and-forth brawl, with both teams trading blows.
In OT round 4, latto pulled off another 3k and brought Legacy to map point. Jeorge hit back in the next round with a 3k of his own, putting Legacy in a 2v5. However, lux missed two clean shots before getting downed, with Jeorge later taking out saadzin to close the round 15-14.
In the decider, Legacy found picks on Jeorge and HexT, but NRG traded back on dumau and n1ssim. Latto scored a headshot on oSee before fragging nitr0 to secure the bomb plant. After that, Lux and Latto effortlessly cleaned up br0 to lock in a narrow 16-13 map win.
4. Legacy Takes The W On Dust2
NRG managed to bite back on Dust2, leading the scoreline 3-0 with early momentum. But that spark quickly faded as Legacy’s CT side locked things down. While defending A site, lux sprayed down NRG to secure a near ace, finishing nitr0 with a pistol shot to the head.

By halftime, teams were squared 6-6. NRG grabbed the first two rounds after the swap, with HexT securing an insane 4k with his USP-S in round 13. But Legacy’s T-side was still too hot, practically bulldozing through NRG’s defenses.

In the final round, latto landed clean headshots on HexT and br0. Dumau then took out nitr0, leaving NRG with an impossible 2v5 retake on B with no util. At this point, it was quick work for Legacy to wipe the remaining players, closing the map 13-8 and sweeping the series 2-0.
