DreamLeague Season 22 Schedule & Format

As a high-stakes, top-tier online Dota 2 event, DreamLeague Season 22 will see teams competing for a slice of the $1 million prize pool and 18,550 EPT Points. The tournament runs from Feb. 25 to March 10, 2024 and features three stages of competition.

The first Group Stage runs from Feb. 25 to Feb. 28 and includes two single Round-Robin format groups of eight teams each. All matches are best-of-two (BO2). The top four teams from each group advance to the second Group Stage and the rest are eliminated.

From March 1 to March 7, the second Group Stage will occur with a single Round-Robin format group with all eight remaining teams. All matches in this stage of the competition are best-of-three (BO3). The top two teams earn spots in the upper bracket of the Playoffs stage, while 3rd and 4th place teams make it to the lower bracket of the Playoffs. The rest of the teams are eliminated.

DreamLeague Season 22 ends with the Playoffs stage, which takes place on March 9 and March 10. The Playoffs stage features a double-elimination bracket format, where all matches are BO3, except for the Grand Final, which is best-of-five (BO5).

Our Predictions For DreamLeague Season 22

Our DreamLeague Season 22 predictions are not meant, in any way, as betting advice. Thanks to some help from the Oracle, you’ll find our top four picks below!

1. Azure Ray

Odds indicate Azure Ray is the fourth-best team at DreamLeague Season 22, so take this as our bold prediction for the event. After watching Azure Ray’s matches at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, it is clear that their team form is higher than initially expected.

The trio of players who joined Azure Ray on Dec. 31, 2023—Ori, fy, and Faith_bain—have already made their presence felt thanks to their immense skill and years of experience. Can Azure Ray claim a first-place finish at DreamLeague Season 22? Our crystal ball says there’s a chance for the Chinese powerhouse!

Azure Ray roster:

  • Lou “Lou” Zhen
  • Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang
  • Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida
  • Xu “fy” Linsen
  • Jiang “天命” An

2. Team Liquid

Team Liquid’s Dota 2 roster, with the addition of Neta “33” Shapira, is in strong form following a solid showing at their first S-Tier LAN event. Can their LAN form translate well to DreamLeague Season 22, an online event? Signs point towards yes! Liquid’s understanding of the meta and current drafting tactics indicate the squad has a better shot than many Dota 2 esports fans may believe.

Team Liquid roster:

  • Michael “miCKe” Vu
  • Michał “Nisha” Jankowski
  • Neta “33” Shapira
  • Samuel “Boxi” Svahn
  • Aydin “Insania” Sarkohi

3. BetBoom Team

Following BetBoom Team’s excellent performance at the first big Dota 2 esports event of the year, the squad has silenced all but the most resilient doubters. Their current form is fantastic, which is why we’re predicting a top-three finish—and a potential run at the trophy.

The addition of 20-year-old Matvey “MieRo`” Vasyunin in the Offlane (PO3), who joined the roster on Jan. 14, 2024, has done wonders for the team. Odds (roughly 5 to 1) indicate BetBoom Team has a decent chance of making it to the Grand Final.

BetBoom Team roster:

  • Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko
  • Danil “gpk” Skutin
  • Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko
  • Vitalie “Save-” Melnic
  • Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek

4. Gaimin Gladiators

The odds place Gaimin Gladiators as the third most likely team to win DreamLeague Season 22. Undoubtedly, the squad, who’s remained together since early 2022, has what it takes to win any significant event.

However, their devastating Grand Final losses at The International 2023 and ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 have dented their team form. Plus, they had a relatively early exit (5th to 6th place) at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024. Gaimin Gladiators can return to form at any moment and smash their opponents, but will they get their groove back at DreamLeague Season 22?

Gaimin Gladiators roster:

  • Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov
  • Quinn “Quinn” Callahan
  • Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard
  • Erik “tOfu” Engel
  • Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp

Alternative strong picks are Team Spirit, Xtreme Gaming, Falcons, and G2.iG.

Gearing Up For DreamLeague Season 22

As DreamLeague Season 22 gets closer, are you ready for what promises to be one of the top events of the year so far? With such incredible talent on display, it wasn’t easy to put together our predictions for this tournament. That said, we are pretty confident in who we think should go all the way—or at least get close.
