BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 kicks off March 19, promising to be one of the most intense Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournaments of the year. With world-class rosters and potential for upsets, it should be an absolute goldmine for esports fans and bettors.

This guide to BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 features everything you need to know about the event, from the tournament schedule and format to our expert analysis of the top teams.

BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 Schedule & Format

BLAST Open 2025 Season 1 runs from March 19 to 30, 2025. It features 16 pro teams competing for a $400,000 prize pool at two venues: the BLAST Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark for the Group Stage and the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal for the Playoffs.

The Group Stage (March 19-24) follows a double-elimination (GSL) format, with two groups of eight teams playing best-of-three matches. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs, with group winners moving directly to the semifinals. The runners-up will proceed to the quarterfinals as the High Seeds, and third-place teams will qualify as the Low Seeds.

The Playoffs (March 28-30) will adopt a single-elimination bracket format. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be best-of-three matches, while the Grand Final will be played in a best-of-five format.

Our Predictions For BLAST Open 2025 Season 1

There’s no denying the competition is incredibly tight for this BLAST event. But we’ve done the research to bring you our expert betting predictions on who may earn the top spot or at least a place on the podium.

Important: These predictions reflect the perceived strength of teams based on historical trends and the latest available odds. This analysis should not be interpreted as betting advice. Past performance does not guarantee future outcomes. Always gamble responsibly.

Team Spirit

Team Spirit is heavily favored to win BLAST Open 2025 Season 1. They’re ranked 1st in the HLTV World Ranking following their impressive performances at major events. This includes 1st place at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, 1st at BLAST Bounty Spring 2025, and 2nd at IEM Katowice 2025.

The Russian crew had a strong start at EPL Season 21, too, with a 3-0 sweep in their Stage 2 matches. Despite eventually losing 1-2 to MOUZ in the Semifinals and taking 3rd-4th place, Team Spirit retains our utmost confidence as an unstoppable force. Their dominance is driven by donk’s explosive firepower and the team’s synergy.

Team Spirit roster:

  • Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov (IGL)
  • Boris “magixx” Vorobyev
  • Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotja
  • Danil “donk” Kryshkovets
  • Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov
  • Sergey “hally” Shavayev (Coach)

Team Vitality

Team Vitality is next in line to trigger an upset. The French squad is currently ranked 2nd in the world thanks to a lineup that’s jam-packed with firepower. Under apEX’s exceptional leadership, perennial players ZywOo and ropz continue to deliver mind-blowing plays and help lead the team to victory, like at IEM Katowice 2025.

Adding further depth, FlameZ and mezii carry their own pedigree, strengthening Vitality’s position as one of the strongest rosters in the scene. They proved that point by stealing the top seed at ESL Pro League Season 21, overcoming Team Liquid and The MongolZ, and then beating MOUZ in the finals.

Team Vitality roster:

  • Dan “apEX” Madesclaire (IGL)
  • Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut
  • Shahar “flameZ” Shushan
  • William “mezii” Merriman
  • Robin “ropz” Kool
  • Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam (Coach)

MOUZ

Sitting at 3rd place in the Valve Global Ranking, MOUZ has proven itself a force to be reckoned with in 2025. Their dominance was on full display at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 after taking down Team Falcons 3-1 in the finals. They also powered through top teams G2 Esports and Team Spirit before ultimately falling to Vitality in the ESL Season 21 finals.

This newfound momentum, combined with MOUZ’s titanic lineup—including star entry fragger Brollan and lurker Spinx—positions them as title contenders with serious upset potential at this BLAST event. While the competition is undeniably tough, it feels like nothing can stop MOUZ right now (except, of course, Vitality).

MOUZ roster:

  • Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás
  • Dorian “xertioN” Berman
  • Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo
  • Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin (IGL)
  • Lotan “Spinx” Giladi
  • Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen (Coach)

The MongolZ

The MongolZ are on track for a top 4 finish at BLAST Open 2025 Season 1, ranking 4th in the Valve Global Ranking. Despite a spotty past, they’ve completely flipped the script over the past year or so. They recently placed 3rd-4th at ESL Season 21 and beat NAVI 2-0 in the Playoffs, only to be roadblocked by Vitality in the Semifinals.

They pulled off a similar run at IEM Katowice 2025, only to fall short against Vitality in the Semifinals. The signs are clear: The MongolZ have evolved into a powerhouse capable of competing at the highest level. That’s why we predict they will make it to the Playoffs at least, but how far they go depends on their matchups.

The MongolZ roster:

  • Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren (IGL)
  • Sodbayar “Techno4K” Munkhbold
  • Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch
  • Ayush “mzinho” Batbold
  • Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold
  • Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat (Coach)

Who Will Reign Supreme?

With top-tier teams, a healthy prize pool, and a packed schedule, it’s safe to say you shouldn’t miss a second of BLAST Open 2025 Season 1. Will Team Spirit continue to dominate? Can MOUZ get their revenge against Team Vitality? We can’t wait to learn the answers to those questions and so many others when the action kicks off this week.
