Esports Parlay Betting

Express, combination, multibet, accumulator, system bets— parlay betting has many names. For beginners, esports parlay betting may seem confusing, but we assure you, it is not! We’ll explain what parlay betting is and how odds are calculated, how you can place these combo bets, share examples, and answer your burning questions in our in-depth guide.

What Is Parlay Betting?

In parlay betting, you select multiple items and combine them into one wager. The odds increase with every item added to your parlay, and so does the potential payout.

The caveat is that if you lose one item in the parlay, you will lose your entire bet. For example, if you accurately guessed the first four out of five predictions but lost the final one, you lose your entire parlay.

How Do You Make A Parlay Bet?

It’s incredibly simple to make a parlay bet here at Thunderpick. Start by creating a Thunderpick account (see our FAQ page) and then follow the steps below to start placing parlay bets on esports.

  • Navigate to our esports betting section.
  • Select your preferred esports title from our extensive list.
  • Peruse all the upcoming and in-play matches, then select your first item—for example, a Match Winner bet.
  • Select a second item and you will see the betslip switch from “Single” to “Combo” automatically.
  • Enter the amount you wish to wager.
  • Click on “Place Bet” at the bottom of your betslip.

Congratulations! You just successfully placed your first parlay bet.

Why Did Thunderpick Add Parlay Bets?

In September 2018, we added parlay bets to our ever-growing list of features. Found under the Combo tab of your betslip, we implemented this feature due to user demand. Fun fact: Parlay bets were actually the most requested feature from our passionate community.

How Do You Calculate Parlay Betting Odds?

To explain how you can calculate parlay betting odds, we’ll use Decimal odds. It’s the default system at Thunderpick and one of the most widely used systems across the betting industry.

The mathematical equation for Decimal odds is: Bet x Odds = Payout.

To calculate esports parlay betting odds, you must multiply the odds of each item in your parlay. Not everyone likes math, but don’t worry, you don’t have to pull out a calculator. We’ll do the heavy lifting for you!

Our intuitive betslip calculates the esports parlay odds for you in real-time. You’ll see odds and potential payout updates as you add or remove items from your parlay bet, just below the “Place Bet” button.

Gamers can also use various betting lines in a parlay. For example, you could string one Match Winner (moneyline) bet with an Over/Under special bet option in another match. You can mix in some traditional sports, too, like the NBA and NFL, or add a horse racing item.

Esports Parlay Betting Examples

With a firm grip on how odds calculations work for esports parlay betting, we’ll share an example. If you have four items in your parlay bet, with 1.6, 2.4, 1.8, and 2.8 odds, the equation and answer are 1.6 * 2.4 * 1.8 * 2.8 = 19.3 odds.

In this fictional scenario, if you place a parlay with these esports odds and bet $5, your total payout is 96.5 if all four predictions are accurate. If you placed individual bets on these outcomes instead, which are all winners, your payout is lower at 43 (8 + 12 + 9 + 14).

Let’s kick things into overdrive with the next example, featuring 12 items in a parlay with a small wager of $3.

  • Odds on each item: 1.7 * 1.3 * 2.7 * 2.5 * 3.4 * 1.4 * 1.8 * 2.1 * 2.9 * 1.2 * 1.1 * 2.2
  • Wager amount: $3
  • Parlay odds: 2260.4
  • Potential payout: $6,781.20

As users add more items to their esports parlay bet, odds and potential total payouts increase exponentially.

Are Parlay Bets Worth It In Esports?

We’ve explained how parlay betting odds work and provided examples of how this system can significantly increase potential payouts. With higher odds comes an inherently higher risk. After all, odds represent a bookmaker’s confidence in a specific online gambling outcome. With parlay bets, multiple outcomes must occur for the user to win.

Gamers must decide for themselves if the risk vs. reward ratio is agreeable. Remember, you can remove one or more items from your parlay esports bet to lower the odds and thereby run a lower risk of losing your wager.

Parlay Betting FAQs

Below are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about parlay esports betting.

Can I Select Multiple Items From One Match?

You cannot select same-game parlays, also known as same-game combos. You can only choose a single bet per esports match. The same goes for sports betting via our dedicated online sportsbook.

What Happens If Odds Change?

If you already placed your parlay, subsequent odds changes do not affect the bet. However, while you are selecting items for your parlay bets, odds may change. In this case, we will send you a notification on your betslip with the details, where you can either discard the item or accept the new odds.

Can I Place Parlay Bets On Live Esports Matches?

Yes, you can! At Thunderpick, you can even string a parlay featuring pre-match and in-play (live betting) items. Remember that odds update consistently for the in-play items, so you may receive a notification, as mentioned in the previous FAQ.

Which Esports Can I Place Parlay Bets On?

You can create a parlay bet on any of the best esports available at Thunderpick. Bettors can also mix esports betting markets and lines into one wager. For example, you could have an Over/Under Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) bet combined with a Dota 2 first blood item, a League of Legends (LoL) Handicap item, and a VALORANT Correct Map Score item.

With multiple bet types (prop bets), the most popular esports games, and different esports tournaments for your favorite video games as options, the sky’s the limit.Remember to practice Responsible Gambling and check out our latest promo offers and boosts. T&Cs apply. 18+ to play.
