Are you looking to play 1v1 in Call of Duty (COD) Mobile so you can go head-to-head against your friends? Good news, soldiers, because this guide will help you do exactly that! And while playing 1v1 doesn’t offer the intense esports gameplay found in Ranked, it can help you improve your aim and earn you bragging rights among your friends.
In this tutorial, we explain how to easily 1v1 in COD Mobile and set up matches with your friends. We also provide five key tips and strategies to win more duels.
How to 1v1 in CoD Mobile
Setting Up 1v1 In COD Mobile
Follow the steps below to start dueling your friends in COD Mobile.
- Ensure COD Mobile is up-to-date on your Android or iOS device.
- Launch the game.
- In the main menu, select the Multiplayer option on the right-hand side of your screen. It’s between Ranked Match and Battle Royale.
- In the top right corner of the screen, tap the options “≡” icon and select “Private” from the drop-down menu. It’s the last option on the list and allows you to create a private lobby.
- Now select the “Switch” button above the “Start” button.
- Scroll through the Mode Change options until you find “1v1 Duel,” and select it from the playlist.
- To the right-hand side of your screen, click on “Invite” and then find the person you wish to 1v1.
- You can select from your friends list, clan members, or gamers you played with in recent matches.
- Wait for the player to accept your invitation.
- Customize the private match to your preference, such as setting the score and time limits. We suggest 600 seconds (10 minutes) and a score limit of 50.
- Once you are both ready, click on the “Start” button.
Congratulations, you just set up a 1v1 match in COD Mobile!
If the 1v1 Duel mode is not available, you can choose Free For All, Frontline, or Team Deathmatch as your game mode in the multiplayer lobby. If you only invite one friend and keep the match private, it is still considered a 1v1 game. These steps will not work in Warzone Mobile.
Tips & Strategies For 1v1 Matches In COD Mobile
Some COD Mobile players are highly competitive, and 1v1 Duels are arguably the best way to settle scores with others, proving who’s the best player. To win more 1v1 matches in COD Mobile, we’ve got five general tips and strategies to share.
Study Map Layouts
COD Mobile constantly evolves, adding and removing new maps over time. You can pick a large variety of maps to 1v1 on, too, so we suggest studying the layouts of your favorite maps to gain an advantage. For example, you should know every corner of Shipment and Crash to find all the popular hiding spots.
The best way to educate yourself is to experience the maps, and playing 1v1 against someone you know lets you do that without any of the stress of a regular match. You can also swap notes with your friends or clanmates after matches, bolstering your knowledge while having fun.
Pre-Aim Around The Corners
If you know someone will likely hide around the carriage on Saloon and notice an audio or visual indication that they’re in cover, you can pre-aim your cursor over one of two heights. The most deadly option is head/neck height, but you’re taking a big risk because you’re more likely to miss your first shots. We suggest that beginners pre-aim for the torso height instead. Hitting shots in the stomach area is highly effective, and if the enemy player decides to crouch around the corner, you’ll take them out instantly with a headshot.
Pick Strong Weapons
One of the best ways to gain an advantage in 1v1 matches is to pick strong guns that can eliminate your opponents in seconds. We recommend avoiding sniper rifles and choosing something that can perform well in short- and medium-range engagements. Here are our picks:
- AS VAL
- PDW-57
- CR-56 AMAX
- MX9
- EM2
- AK117
- Krig 6
- ASM10
- Man O’ War
- M13
Don’t want to use an SMG or Assault Rifle? Try out the HOLGER-26, Bruen MK9 LMGs, or the Argus shotgun in your next 1v1. Remember that weapons receive balance changes from time to time, so we recommend keeping up with the latest meta and watching your favorite content creators play.
Our Recommended 1v1 Perks
You can pick up to three Perks in COD Mobile via your loadout, unlocking at player levels 4, 6, and 12. These Perks can change gameplay elements and give you a solid advantage in 1v1 situations. For example, you won’t make noise from movement when walking, crouching, or prone with the Dead Silent Perk, avoiding detection and possibly surprising the enemy.
You’ll find our six Perk suggestions for duels below, along with their official descriptions.
- Tracker: Enemy footprints are visible for 4 seconds.
- Ghost: Enemy UAVs and Heartbeat Sensor cannot reveal your position.
- Lightweight: Sprinting speed is increased by 10%, and fall damage is greatly reduced.
- Dead Silence: Grants Silent movement while walking, crouching, or prone. Sound spread distance becomes shorter while sprinting.
- Tactician: Spawn with an extra piece of tactical equipment.
- Fast Recover: Increase HP recovery rate by 35%.
Honorable mention goes to Martyrdom, where you drop a live grenade upon death. While it’s a solid option, many players get annoyed when others use it or even ragequit after a few deaths. If you are 1v1-ing with friends, we suggest either keeping this Perk out of your loadout or making sure your buddy knows that you plan to use it.
Stay Calm & Take It Slow
Keeping cool under pressure is imperative to winning an intense 1v1 match. Many players will try to bait you into making decisions with haste, such as running around a corner mindlessly, which can lead to a devastating loss.
We suggest taking it slower in duels compared to a standard multiplayer or battle royale match. No one can back you up and help revive if you make a mistake. Just go slow and steady, and focus your aim on likely avenues of attack.
Ready To Prove Yourself?
COD Mobile duels are the perfect way to practice your skills and knowledge of the game, to find out the best player among your friend group, or a mix of both! Playing a more casual 1v1 match removes the stress and high-stakes of the other game modes, allowing you to learn the maps and different weapons at your own pace.
