This May, we’ll witness 16 of the best Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports teams converge on Atlanta, Georgia, to compete at the next big Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) event. Thirteen teams have received direct invites to IEM Atlanta 2026, and three will emerge victorious from the qualifiers.
Let’s discuss the IEM Atlanta 2026 Americas and Global Qualifier events, including format, schedule, the teams competing, and our expert betting predictions.
IEM Atlanta 2026 Qualifiers Schedule & Format
The IEM Atlanta 2026 qualifiers are handled directly by ESL and are seen as Tier 1 Qualifier events. These are online-only affairs with the Global Qualifier held on European servers and the Americas Qualifier held on North American servers.
Both events run from Feb. 10 to 12 and will feature three days of non-stop CS2 esports action. The format for the qualifiers is a double-elimination bracket, where all matches are best-of-three. Eight teams from North and South America are competing in the Americas Qualifier, fighting for one spot at the main event. In the Global Qualifier, 16 teams are competing for two spots at IEM Atlanta 2026, dubbed the new home of NA CS.
There is no prize pool at stake, but as a Tier 1 Qualifier event, each match carries weight in the Valve Regional Standings (VRS). Everyone in attendance wants nothing more than to punch their tickets to Atlanta and compete at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Our IEM Atlanta 2026 Americas Qualifier Predictions
Eight teams may have been invited, but there’s only one spot at the main event of IEM Atlanta 2026 to compete for. The Americas Qualifier is loaded with talent, including exciting North American stacks ready to duke it out on the server.
Check out our top-two picks below.
Passion UA (#1)
Passion UA is by far the highest-ranked team at the Americas Qualifier. They’re #29 on the VRS and #17 on HLTV. Led by the South African duo of IGL Johnny “JT” Theodosiou and coach Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen, Passion UA is our top pick to claim the singular spot at IEM Atlanta 2026’s main event.
The squad has a 45.8% match win rate in the past three months. However, they’ve faced tougher competition than any other team at this event, pushing the likes of G2 Esports and NIP to their limits in close matches at IEM Kraków 2026.
Passion UA roster:
- Vladyslav “Kvem” Korol
- Michael “Grim” Wince
- Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli
- Nicholas “nicx” Lee
- Johnny’ “JT” Theodosiou (IGL)
- Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen (Coach)
BOSS (#2)
Canadian entry fragger Justin “FaNg” Coakley is the tip of the spear, and veteran Canadian rifler Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz is calling the shots for BOSS. The roster is technically an organization-less North American stack, filled to the brim with talent.
With so much experience in the lineup, we’ve put them in #2, ahead of Wildcard and Voca, both of which are higher ranked. BOSS is ranked #118 on the VRS and #94 on HLTV. We predict they’ll punch above their VRS weight and come extremely close to winning the Americas Qualifier.
BOSS roster:
- Keller “SLIGHT” Nilan
- Gavin “Fruitcupx” Norman
- Brendan “Bwills” Williams
- Justin “FaNg” Coakley
- Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz (IGL)
- Ben “ben1337” Smith (Coach)
Our IEM Atlanta 2026 Global Qualifier Predictions
With 16 teams fighting tooth and nail for just two spots at IEM Atlanta 2026, sparks are set to fly in the Global Qualifier. There are some strong players in attendance, making the Global Qualifier a must-watch online affair.

You’ll find our top-two predictions outlined below.
EYEBALLERS (#1)
All-Swedish team EYEBALLERS is led by veteran Jesper “JW” Wecksell, and is ranked #33 on the VRS and #35 on HLTV. They may be the third-highest-rated team at the event, but they’re our #1 pick because of their performance at BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1 Closed Qualifier.
The team reverse-swept FaZe Clan in the first round of play, causing a huge upset. While they lost 2-0 to Team Vitality, they managed to push the best team in the world into overtime on Anubis, something few squads in the top 10 can claim.
Despite the fantastic results, including a 65.4% match win rate over the past three months, you should still consider our #1 pick of EYEBALLERS as a bold prediction. Competing in every event they could since the start of the year, they’ve built up extensive experience in online events, which counts in their favor at the IEM Atlanta 2026 Global Qualifier.
EYEBALLERS roster:
- Sebastian “dex” Samuelsson
- Kalle “Ro1f” Johansson
- Max “maxster” Jansson
- Jonatan “bobeksde” Persson
- Jesper “JW” Wecksell (IGL)
- Faruk “pita” Pita (Coach)
BetBoom Team (#2)
As the highest-ranked team at the IEM Atlanta 2026 Global Qualifier, at #24 on the VRS and #32 on HLTV, BetBoom Team should make it to a top-two finish. The squad is led by ex-NAVI star Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhaylov, who brings extensive experience at the highest levels of competition.
The full-Russian roster is a force on the server, especially if star AWPer Artem “ArtFr0st” Kharitonov hits those beautiful shots. Thanks to a 74.1% match win rate in the last three months, BetBoom Team is our 2nd pick.
BetBoom Team roster:
- Pavel “s1ren” Ogloblin
- Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov
- Artem “ArtFr0st” Kharitonov
- Daniil “d1Ledez” Kustov
- Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhaylov (IGL)
- Artem “Fierce” Ivanov (Coach)

Will Passion UA claim the ultimate prize in the IEM Atlanta 2026 Americas Qualifier, or could the North American stack of BOSS emerge victorious?
