Invictus Gaming’s History

Established in August 2011 by Wang Sicong through a $6M acquisition of Catastrophic Cruel Memory (CCM), Invictus Gaming (IG) assimilated CCM’s DotA, LoL, and StarCraft 2 divisions, fortifying its stance in the esports domain. This kicked off a ripple effect that would transcend other esports genres.

Major Early Wins

IG’s Defense of the Ancients (DotA) chapter commenced with powerhouse teams iG.Y and iG.Z, the former bolstered by four LGD Gaming members. Unifying in 2011, they went on to seize multiple victories in Dota 2, notably The International 2012, which featured a then-staggering $1M prize.

Roster Changes

Similarly, the Invictus Gaming LoL team demonstrated resilience through roster changes, achieving numerous triumphs over the years. Specifically, 2018 was a standout year, where IG won the LPL Summer and 2018 LoL World Championship, inscribing their name as a powerful force in LoL Esports.

IG in 2020 and Beyond

While subsequent years witnessed varied LPL performances and couldn’t echo the 2018 glory, IG remains an influential entity in Dota and LoL. Their reach extends to other esports arenas like CrossFire, Apex Legends, PUBG, Rainbow Six, and Wild Rift, marking an impressive expansion over the years.

Invictus Gaming’s CS:GO Team

Excellence in all fields is rare, yet the Invictus Gaming CS:GO team manages to exemplify it. While they may not mirror the grandeur of IG’s LoL or Dota 2 squads, they’ve still left their footprints in the Counter-Strike arena.

Victories include lower-tier events like Hot Pot Masters, Asia Champions League, Betway CS:GO Asia Masters, and NEX Play From Home. Beyond this, IG has accumulated more than $158K in tournament prize winnings for their efforts—not a bad payday!

Beyond this, Invictus Gaming has triumphed at major events like Dota 2 Asia Championships 2017, ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021, WPC 2014, National Electronic Arena 2016, and ESL One Frankfurt. In Dota 2, IG’s collective winnings stood at an impressive $8.3M.
