The M5 World Championship stands as the pinnacle event of the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) 2023 esports season, and it has been an absolute blast thus far. The event is organized by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) publisher Moonton and played on the ASUS ROG Phone 6 as the official device, and fans across the globe can’t wait to see who will become the next world champion!

M5 World Championship Results

The Wildcard Stage is a new addition to the MLBB World Championship for 2023, in addition to the Crossover matches. In case you missed the first stages of the M5 World Championship, we’ve got you covered with the results.

M5 WC Wildcard & Crossover Results

Eight teams competed in two round-robin groups in the M5 World Championship Wildcard Stage. Team SMG topped Group A, and Niightmare Esports claimed second place. Team Lilgun came out on top in Group B, while Imperio managed a second-place finish.

The top four teams competed in all-important Crossover matches for two spots in the Group Stage. Team SMG knocked out Imperio with a 3-1 win, and Team Lilgun demolished Niightmare with a clean 3-0 victory.

M5 WC Group Stage Results

With 22 teams whittled down to 16 qualified teams across four groups, the M5 World Championship Group Stage took place from Dec. 2 to 7. These team rosters are loaded with the best players from regions such as Asia and MENA, and countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Brazil, China, and Mongolia. 

With a single round-robin format and all matches being best-of-three, teams fought hard to survive. Each group saw the top two teams advance to the M5 World Championship Knockout Stage, and you can check out the final Group Stage standings below.

M5 WC Knockout Stage Format

The eight remaining teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket. All teams start in the upper bracket, with matchups based on their performance in the Group Stage. All matches are best-of-five, except the grand final, which is a best-of-seven affair.

M5 WC Knockout Stage Schedule & Matchups

M5 World Championship Knockout Stage matches are scheduled from Dec. 9 to Dec. 12 and then from Dec. 15 to Dec. 17. The first part of the Knockout Stage takes place at the EVM Convention Center, while the final occurs at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.   • Fire Flux Esports vs. Deus Vult, starting Dec. 9 at 06:00 CET | Dec. 8 at 21:00 PST.

M5 World Championship Grand Final Start Time & Date

  • 2nd place: $120,000
  • 3rd place: $80,000
  • 4th place: $55,000
  • 5th & 6th place: $40,000
  • 7th & 8th place: $30,000
  • 9th to 12th place: Team SMG, Triple Esports, Team Flash, and HomeBois win $20,000 each.
  • 13th to 16th place: Team Lilgun, RRQ Akira, Bigetron Sons, and TheOhioBrothers win $15,000 each.
  • 17th & 18th place: Imperio and Niightmare Esports win $10,000 each.
  • 19th & 20th place: Team Falcons and Umbrella Squad win $10,000 each.
  • 21st & 22nd place: 4Merical Esports and KeepBest Gaming win $10,000 each.

As you can see, all 22 MLBB esports teams who competed in the M5 World Championship win a piece of the prize pool, with the lion’s share ($300,000) going to the winner. The MVP of the event takes home an additional $5,000.
