Samira Build Guide

Are you stuck on Platinum? No worries, because now is your chance to climb the ranks with the best Samira ADC build in League of Legends! This guide will cover all the top runes and spells, as well as the optimal skill order and item build to triumph in your matches.

Also known as the “Desert Rose,” Samira is a combo queen who thrives in high-risk scenarios. She capitalizes on her ability to chain abilities and rapidly dish out absurd amounts of damage with her pistols and blades. If you want a higher win rate with Samira in LoL, keep reading!

Note: Aspects of this Samira guide may become redundant as the meta changes and with future patch updates.

Why Samira?

Samira is a top-tier ADC in League, boasting a respectable win rate and enviable outplay potential. In short, the Desert Rose is a formidable force in skirmishes, with her passive increasing her effectiveness in dishing out a ton of damage.

Her combo-centric abilities allow for flashy plays that blend damage with mobility and a skill that can block enemy projectiles. However, Samira thrives best with coordinated teams that can capitalize on her powerful ult and allow her to snowball through aggressive play.

Best Samira Runes

These Precision and Domination runes help Samira hit harder, manage her mana, and heal up when she fights. They also simply fit well with her attacking style. Be sure to fill the Shard slots with the +10% attack speed, +9 adaptive force, and +15 ~ 140 health (based on level) options.

Primary Runes: Precision Path

  • Conqueror: By hitting champions, Samira gains bonus attack damage. At max stacks, she heals from the damage dealt. Note that Inferno Trigger stacks fully with Conqueror.
  • Triumph: After scoring a champion takedown, Samira restores 2.5% of her maximum health (+5% of missing HP) and gains 20 bonus gold. This rune suits aggressive Samira players and synergizes well with The Collector to amplify her snowball potential.
  • Legend: Bloodline: Samira earns up to 5.25% life steal per Legend stack and a bonus 85 HP at max stacks. This rune complements Samira’s combo-heavy kit more than attack speed or tenacity, improving her durability in combat.
  • Last Stand: As Samira often finds herself clashing with enemy champions, this rune grants her 5-11% increased damage under 60% HP, with the damage maxing at 30%. This ensures she hits harder as enemies chip away at her health in team fights.

Note: Triumph enables more aggressive play styles but demands careful consideration of Samira’s mana management.

Secondary Runes: Domination Path

  • Taste of Blood: When Samira strikes an enemy champion, she will heal for 16-40 HP with a bonus of 10% AD and 5% AP. There’s nothing else to this other than raw health regeneration.
  • Treasure Hunter: This rune awards Samira extra gold on champion takedowns. Initially, she earns 50 gold, increasing by 20 per unique kill (max: 450 gold). It basically accelerates her item build, empowering her to dominate the battlefield even faster.
  • Eyeball Collection (situational alternative): Each takedown grants Eyeball stacks, which give Samira 1.2 AD or 2 AP. At max stacks, she gains a bonus of 6 AD or 10 AP. This rune is key to Samira’s style of play because it enhances her attack power and allows her to snowball.

Samira Summoner Spells

  • Flash (non-negotiable): This spell is mandatory. Flash teleports Samira a short distance, allowing her to reposition and chain her abilities, chase down enemies, or evade surprise ganks.
  • Barrier: This spell grants a 120-480 damage shield for 2.5s. Samira often finds herself in the middle of team fights, in which case Barrier can help her survive long enough to deal more damage or bait out important abilities from enemy champions.
  • Cleanse (situational alternative): Mostly useful against heavy crowd control, Cleanse is a self-targetable spell that removes most disables and summoner spell debuffs. It also provides 65% tenacity for three seconds, making subsequent CC effects shorter.

Note: As a Samira player in LoL, you will choose Flash almost every time. However, you then can choose between Barrier or Cleanse as your second Summoner Spell, depending on your matchup.

Samira Items

These are the best items to complete this Samira build in LoL. However, always adapt your item build based on each match’s specific conditions and dynamics.

Starting Items

  • Doran’s Blade
  • Health Potion

Pro Tip: Instead of Doran’s Blade, you can grab a Long Sword and additional Health Potions if you’re against high poke bot lanes.

Boots

  • Plated Steelcaps
  • Mercury’s Treads (situational alternative)
  • Boots of Swiftness (situational alternative)

Pro Tip: Out of these options, Plated Steelcaps are best for defense against AD-heavy matchups, whereas Mercury’s Treads are better against high magic damage or crowd control.

Boots of Swiftness is best against champions like Ashe, who rely on slows to kite and control opponents. The slow resistance and bonus MS make it particularly good for chasing or evading enemies.

Core Items

  • The Collector
  • Infinity Edge
  • Bloodthirster

Situational Items

  • Lord Dominik’s Regards
  • Guardian Angel
  • Immortal Shieldbow *
  • Maw of Malmortius *
  • Mercurial Scimitar *
  • Mortal Reminder *

Note: A common Samira core item build order is to go The Collector, Infinity Edge, and Bloodthirster. You can then go for Lord Dominik’s Regards and end with Guardian Angel as your final item. The remaining items are proposed as situational alternatives.

Samira Abilities

  • Passive – Daredevil Impulse: When Samira damages unique enemy champions, they generate Style stacks, boosting her movement speed up to 21% and allowing her to cast Inferno Trigger at max stacks. Melee-range basic attacks use her blade. They deal bonus magic damage that increases with the target’s missing health, while attacks on immobilized or airborne enemies trigger a multi-strike attack that can knock up certain targets.
  • Q – Flair: Samira fires a shot damaging the first enemy hit, but if an enemy is close, she slashes in a cone instead. If used during Wild Rush, she leaves explosives. The ability can then critically strike all enemies in her path for bonus physical damage (25% + 45% IE) and apply life steal. You can cast this move during Blade Whirl and Inferno Trigger.
  • W – Blade Whirl: This ability lets Samira spin her blade to destroy enemy projectiles and deal physical damage to nearby enemies in two slashes. She can’t attack or use Flair at the same time as Blade Whirl, and using Inferno Trigger ends it early.
  • E – Wild Rush: Samira can dash towards an enemy or turret, dealing magic damage to any enemies she goes through and gaining bonus attack speed for three seconds. If she takes down an enemy champion three seconds after damaging them, Wild Rush’s cooldown is reset. She can use Flair or Inferno Trigger during the dash.
  • R – Inferno Trigger: This move allows Samira to rapidly shoot at nearby enemies for more than two seconds, dealing damage with each shot. These hits can critically strike for 75% + 45% IE bonus physical damage and lifesteal. To use this ability, a nearby enemy must be visible. Also, while Samira can’t attack or use Flair and Blade Whirl at the same time, she can still move. Just remember that certain crowd controls can end it early.

Pro Tip: A common skill path for a Samira ADC build is Q>E>W. This build order currently has a decent win rate and is aimed at boosting her damage, improving her poke and wave clear in the process.

Make Your Mark With This Samira Build

Climbing the ranks takes patience and practice. While this guide offers expert advice for runes, items, and abilities, adaptability remains key in LoL. That’s why you should always adjust your build based on each unique matchup.
