VCT 2024 Pacific Stage 2 Schedule & Format

VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 2 is an offline LAN event that runs from June 15 to July 21, 2024. Riot Games’ esports division organized the tournament, which will be held at the COEX Artium venue in Seoul, South Korea. The event features a Group Stage and a Playoffs Stage.

The Group Stage runs from June 15 to July 8, 2024, and it features two single round-robin groups, with five teams in Group Alpha and six in Group Omega. Each team’s performance determines their Group Stage placement. All matches in the Group Stage are best-of-three. The top six teams, based on overall performance in Stages 1 and 2, earn a spot in the Playoffs.

From July 12-21, the top six teams will compete in the Playoffs for three coveted spots at VALORANT Champions 2024. This stage features a hybrid bracket, with the first Knockout Round being single-elimination. From the semifinals, the bracket format changes to double-elimination. All matches are best-of-three, except the lower bracket final and the Grand Final, which are both best-of-five.

Our Predictions For VCT 2024 Pacific Stage 2

In anticipation of the VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 2 event, we’ve embodied the mindset of KAY/O to bring you our top-four predictions.

Please note: Our VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 2 predictions are based on past results and standings from Stage 1, overall performances in VCT 2024 thus far, including Masters events, and a healthy dose of the author’s expert opinion. Never interpret these predictions as betting advice to act upon. Always gamble responsibly. You must be 18+ to play.

1. Gen.G Esports

There is no denying Gen.G Esports is the top VALORANT team in the region heading into this event. They’ve had an incredible season, placing second at Masters Madrid and recently dramatically winning Masters Shanghai. In case you missed it—they won the last two maps in a row to beat Team Heretics 3-2 in the best-of-five grand finale to become the Masters Shanghai champions.

There is little doubt in anyone’s mind that Gen.G Esports will earn a top-three finish in this tournament and a spot at the VALORANT Champions 2024 event. Plus, odds indicate they are the favorites to win Stage 2.

Gen.G Esports roster:

  • Kim “Meteor” Tae-o
  • Kim “t3xture” Na-ra
  • Kim “Karon” Won-tae
  • Kim “Lakia” Jong-min
  • Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom (IGL)
  • Kang “solo” Keun-chul (Coach)

2. Paper Rex

With the legendary f0rsakeN in their midst, Paper Rex is the primary contender to Gen.G Esports’ throne. The squad placed third at Masters Madrid and first at VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 1, beating Gen.G 3-2 in the final.

We can’t wait to see what tactics French coach alecks, who won the “Coach of the Year” award in the VCT 2023: Pacific League, has in store for their opponents. Odds indicate that Paper Rex has what it takes to earn a top-three finish at VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 2.

Paper Rex roster:

  • Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto
  • Aaron “mindfreak” Leonhart
  • Ilya “something” Petrov
  • Wang “Jinggg” Jie
  • Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee (IGL)
  • Alexandre “alecks” Sallé (Coach)

3. T1

Time for our bold prediction: T1 will finish in the top three and beat DRX for a spot at VALORANT Champions 2024. T1 qualified for Masters Shanghai via Stage 1, and despite dropping out early, they showed a lot of promise. Odds indicate that T1 can make a top-four finish, and if the acquisition of stax from DRX works out, we could see the squad in third or higher.

T1 roster:

  • Ha “Sayaplayer” Jung-woo
  • Lee “Carpe” Jae-hyeok
  • Ham “iZu” Woo-joo
  • Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo
  • Kim “stax” Gu-taek (IGL)
  • Kevin “xccurate” Susanto (IGL)
  • Dakota “Stunner” MacLeod (Coach)

At the time of writing, it is unclear if stax or xccurate will lead T1 at the event.

4. DRX

DRX is at the top of the cross-stage group leaderboard heading into VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 2, putting itself in a solid position to make the Playoffs. However, we predict DRX will falter in the Playoffs stage, narrowly losing out on a top-three finish.

It’s neck and neck between T1 and DRX, and the outcome largely depends on how the recent team changes affect their performance. DRX added Flashback to their active roster in May, and stax joined T1 in June 2024, raising questions about both teams’ roster synergy.

DRX roster:

  • Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul
  • Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan
  • Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung
  • Kang “BeYN” Ha-bin
  • Cho “Flashback” Min-hyuk
  • Seon-ho “termi” Pyeon (Coach)

The Road To VALORANT Champions 2024

Like other events in this year’s VCT, the ultimate goal of Pacific Stage 2 is to land a coveted spot in the Champions event. We’re feeling pretty good about our picks for the top four teams in the tournament, though it really is a toss-up between T1 and DRX at this point. There are just too many questions about how those teams will perform rejigged rosters to know for sure. Plus, who’s to say an underdog or two won’t show up to completely shake up the scene? That’s just part of why we love esports after all.
