Here’s a breakdown of every LoL champion featured in this season:

Vi

Vi is a major protagonist in Arcane and the headstrong, protective older sister of Powder (later Jinx). Raised in Zaun, Piltover’s “undercity,” she learned how to rob and cheat for self-preservation. Despite her rebellious streak, Vi eventually forms a complicated bond with Caitlyn to fight crime while quietly hoping to save the sister she lost to madness.

Jinx (Powder)

Initially known as Powder, Jinx is Vi’s younger sister and the protagonist (turned antagonist) who falls victim to abandonment and Silco’s manipulation. She transforms from an innocent child to an unpredictable anarchist. Her story is filled with heartbreak and destruction, making Jinx arguably the most tragic and volatile character in Arcane.

Ekko

Ekko begins as a side character in Arcane Season 1 but rises to lead the Firelights, a rebel street gang fighting to reclaim Zaun from Silco. He is brilliant and inventive, with his earlier appearance foreshadowing his future as a time-bending genius. Ekko’s emotional fallout with Jinx leads to the most memorable fight in the entire series.

Singed

Singed is a brilliant but morally compromised chemist who helps Silco seize control of Zaun with a drug he created called Shimmer. The drug is used to save Jinx’s life and transform Vander into Warwick. Motivated to cure his daughter Orianna, Singed’s obsession with defying death pushes him into a life of inhumane experimentation and moral decay.

Caitlyn

Caitlyn is a privileged scion of Piltover with a strong sense of justice. Her investigation as an Enforcer leads her into Zaun, where she becomes close with Vi, a bond that blurs the line between duty and emotion. As they pursue Silco’s criminal empire, Caitlyn’s growing obsession with justice strains their bond amid rising tension between the cities and a looming war.

Jayce

Jayce is a visionary inventor in Arcane whose rise begins with the breakthrough creation of Hextech. Initially driven by idealism, he is forced into moral compromise by political pressure, war, and personal loss. As Hextech’s threat grows, Jayce rejects power (haunted by what he’s built) and fights to destroy the future he once dreamed of.

Heimerdinger

Heimerdinger is a centuries-old Yordle scientist who helped build Piltover. Though he inspired Jayce, he heavily opposed Hextech’s creation, leading to his expulsion from the Council. Cast out, Heimerdinger finds himself in Zaun, where he meets Ekko (his new prodigy) and rediscovers purpose beyond politics.

Viktor

Viktor begins as an ambitious but terminally ill inventor from Zaun, working with Jayce to pioneer Hextech. Desperate to survive and uplift his people, he experiments with Shimmer and the Hexcore, unlocking arcane power at the cost of his emotional humanity. Jayce eventually confronts him, and together they neutralize the volatile magic.

Kindred

Although they are not part of the main plot, Kindred are referenced as an Easter egg when Caitlyn and Vi explore a brothel in Zaun during Arcane Episode 5. They’re represented by two masked figures: Lamb and Wolf, the dual aspects of death. It’s extremely subtle!

All Arcane League of Legends Characters In Season 2

Arcane Season 2 brings many returning LoL champs from Season 1, expanding on their backstories, while introducing a handful of new faces, too.

Ambessa Medarda

Although technically an Arcane character first, Ambessa Medarda was added to LoL in 2024 (so we’re counting her for our S2 rundown). She’s a ruthless Noxian warlord who values legacy and strength above all. She initially seeks Hextech weapons and pushes Jayce toward war, later gaining military command and manipulating Piltover’s politics. She eventually dies in Mel’s arms (or does she?), defiant to the very end.

Mel

Mel Medarda is a cunning Noxian exile turned Piltover councilor who uses diplomacy and political finesse to shape the city’s future. Initially molding Jayce to gain influence, she becomes attached to him. In Season 2, Mel pushes for peace as tensions rise with Zaun, defying her estranged war-hungry mother, Ambessa Medarda.

Warwick

Warwick is Vander (Jinx and Vi’s adoptive father) after being transformed by Singed’s brutal Shimmer and Hextech experiments. While hints of his humanity remain, Warwick is a monstrous, wolf-like creature. His body is enhanced with alchemical tech, and an insatiable predatory thirst for blood drives him.

Orianna

Orianna is the terminally ill daughter of Singed (formerly Dr. Corin Reveck). Her condition is what drives Reeveck’s descent into twisted experimentation. Orianna makes her debut in Season 2 where she’s transformed into a cyborg-like figure (aligning with her persona as the “Lady of Clockwork”), with her body heavily augmented with machinery.

LeBlanc

LeBlanc is a sorceress and the manipulative leader of the Black Rose in Arcane. She appears in Season 2, abducting Mel to awaken her latent powers and using illusion magic to destabilize Piltover. Mel later turns on her following the mage’s clash with Ambessa and seemingly destroys her. However, LeBlanc survives, setting the stage for future conflict.

Swain

Although Swain does not physically appear in S2, his presence is teased through a recurring raven symbol tied to Noxian politics. He’s never explicitly named, but the raven is likely a nod to Swain’s influence in LoL lore. This subtle setup hints at his future involvement, possibly positioning him as a major character in a later season.

Teemo

While not officially featured in Arcane, there are multiple hints to Teemo throughout the show. For example, references to the Swift Scout appear in a children’s book, on Isha’s hat, Sevika’s slot machine arm, and even as a mural on a wall.

Back Your LoL Champs At Thunderpick

Think you know how these champs would stack up in a real fight?
