PGL Astana 2026 Schedule & Format
PGL Astana 2026 takes place from May 9–17, 2026, at the iconic Barys Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan. The tournament will bring together 16 of the world’s best CS2 teams and unfold across two phases: Group Stage and Playoffs, with the final stretch played in front of a live audience.
The Group Stage (May 9–14) will follow a Swiss-style format. All matches are played as best-of-three series, with teams facing opponents with the same win-loss record each round. Initial seeding is determined by the VRS (Valve Regional Standings), and only the top eight teams will advance to the next stage.
The Playoffs (May 15–17) will adopt a classic single-elimination bracket format. While the quarter- and semi-finals will be played as best-of-three series, the tournament will culminate in a grueling best-of-five Grand Final series to crown the PGL Astana 2026 champion.

Our Predictions For PGL Astana 2026
With scheduling conflicts keeping heavyweights like Team Vitality and Natus Vincere out of PGL Astana 2026, the door is wide open for upsets.
Important: These predictions reflect the perceived strength of teams based on historical trends and the latest available odds. This analysis should not be interpreted as betting advice. Past performance does not guarantee future outcomes. Always gamble responsibly.
1. Team Spirit
With some of the world’s most dominant teams out of the picture, Team Spirit (#4 VRS Global and HLTV World Rankings) is our favorite pick at PGL Astana 2026.
The team recently placed 2nd at IEM Rio 2026 after dispatching Liquid, MOUZ, and Falcons with ease en route to the Grand Final. While a heartbreaking 0–3 sweep to Vitality snuffed hopes of victory, Spirit impressed with spectacular performances from donk (1.22 rating) and held an 11–8 lead on Mirage to force Vitality into overtime.

Despite being out-disciplined by Vitality, Spirit remains one of the most dangerous teams in the CS2 pro circuit right now. They are poised for yet another statement run in Astana, especially with superstars like donk/sh1ro popping off and the roster finally clicking after the return of zont1x and magixx to the team.
Outright odds of 4.00 (+300) imply that Spirit have a 25.0% implied probability of victory, while odds of 2.25 (+125) suggest a 44.4% chance that they will reach the Grand Final.
Team Spirit roster:
- Boris “magixx” Vorobyev (IGL)
- Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia
- Danil “donk” Kryshkovets
- Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov
- Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich
- Sergey “hally” Shavayev (Coach)
2. Team Falcons
Although outright odds of 3.25 (+225) make Team Falcons the favorites, they’re our second pick to lift the PGL Astana 2026 trophy.
Ranked #3 on VRS Global, their run hasn’t come without challenges. They opened the year with a second-place finish at BLAST Bounty Winter, before hitting a rough patch that included 5th–6th at BLAST Open Spring and back-to-back top-eight exits in IEM Kraków and PGL Cluj-Napoca. A recent third-place finish at IEM Rio, however, has helped to restore confidence.

The superteam impressed in Groups, beating 3DMAX and Spirit before upsetting Vitality 2–1 to reach the semifinals. After falling to Spirit, they bounced back by beating FURIA in the third-place decider, with m0NESY (1.48 rating) topping the server in nine of 11 maps through the event.
Despite having elite firepower with NiKo and m0NESY, Falcons’ campaign has been a mixed bag. Ongoing cohesion issues have led to kyxsan being replaced by karrigan as IGL. This reunited him with NiKo and coach zonic, a move that could unlock this roster’s full potential.
Team Falcons roster:
- Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
- René “TeSeS” Madsen
- Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
- Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin
- Finn “karrigan” Andersen (IGL)
- Danny “zonic” Sørensen (Coach)
3. FURIA
FURIA enter PGL Astana as a strong contender with clear upside. The Brazilian powerhouse sits at #3 in the HLTV World Rankings, right behind NaVi and Vitality, backed by respectable finishes at top-tier events, including 4th at IEM Rio, 2nd at IEM Kraków, and 3rd–4th at BLAST Bounty Winter.
While their performance at BLAST Rivals Spring left a lot to be desired, FURIA still boast a veteran lineup that includes the “godfather of Brazilian CS” FalleN and lurker KSCERATO. Add the entry aggression of YEKINDAR and prodigy AWPer molodoy into the equation, and the team has exceptional firepower and tempo to trouble even the best.

Overall, FURIA have the playbook to make a deep run, but their inconsistent execution, especially on T-side, remains a major concern. In particular, constant adjustments and internal friction continue to disrupt their flow, with the team’s latest rebuild falling short of closing the gap to teams like Spirit and Falcons.
Outright odds of 5.00 (+400) give FURIA an implied 20.0% chance of winning, while odds of 2.62 (+162) translate to a 38.17% probability of them reaching the Grand Final.
FURIA roster:
- Yuri “yuurih” Boian
- Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato
- Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo (IGL)
- Danil “molodoy” Golubenko
- Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis
- Sidnei “sidde” Macedo (Coach)
